Gabriel’s owners Jan and Matthew Bundy are celebrating their restaurant’s 30th anniversary in August. This fine dining restaurant is a longtime local favorite and is tucked away in the Manhart Manor house (built in 1889), located at 5450 Manhart Street in Sedalia.
Matthew helped open Gabriel’s in 1986 as the general manager and maître d’. He and his wife Jan became the owners in 1993 and are passionate about maintaining high standards for their menu items and service. “We have to practice constantly to be better than we were the day before. Our customers are wonderful, many of whom have become family to all of us. Along with our hard work, we know they are the leading force in allowing us to stay in business for 30 years. We consider ourselves very fortunate and appreciate our blessings every day,” said Jan Bundy.
Matthew built 10 raised gardening beds and fully embraces the “farm to table” concept of growing his own herbs, vegetables and flowers, all of which are used at Gabriel’s. The Bundys are careful about their impact to the environment and have practiced recycling and composting for years. They also support schools in the area, children’s medical societies, and the community.
Gabriel’s is open Wednesday through Sunday and can be reached at 303-688-2323 or by visiting www.gabrielsdenver.com.
