What happens when you take several of the most popular community events – Wine Walk in the Village, Oktoberfest, Run Wild and fireworks – and combine them into one action-packed, fun-filled weekend? You get a Party in the Pines!
Party in the Pines is a three-day event sponsored by the Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce, the City of Castle Pines and The Castle Pines Connection. Plan for a weekend of fun, and block off August 26-28 on your calendar now.
Friday, August 26 is a special night for adults featuring “Vino in the Village.” Get your friends together and join us for a beautiful summer evening of wine and food pairings, exclusive shopping and strolling musicians. This event will take place in the Village Center (aka: The Village at Castle Pines), located at the corner of Santa Fe and Happy Canyon Road. Tickets are limited and sell for $40 each or two for $70 and include a commemorative wine glass.
Saturday, August 27, bring your lawn chairs and the whole family for a day of fun for “Party in the Park.” Taking place in Elk Ridge Park in the heart of the City of Castle Pines, this event will feature barbecued burgers and brats from local favorite Rockyard Brewing Company, a beer garden, wine booths, live music from Lookin’ Back, lots of fun activities for kids and giveaways and treats from local businesses. Top that all off with fireworks at dusk (fire restrictions permitting), and enjoy the perfect day!
After indulging in all of the fun, food and drinks, come back to Elk Ridge Park on Sunday August 28 for “Run Wild!” Now in its fifth year, this run offers something for all ability levels. Participate in the 9-mile, 4-mile or 1-mile “Color Me Wild Family Fun Run.” One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the 1-mile run will benefit the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office’s Youth, Education and Safety in Schools (Y.E.S.S.) program, a proactive collaboration between law enforcement, schools and the community to help develop life skills for teens in Douglas County. Stick around after the run and enjoy a pancake breakfast from Mama Lisa’s Little Italy, beer, activities for kids and so much more!
If you are interested in all three events, check out the Passport, which gives you access to the entire weekend. The Passport sells for only $60 and includes a ticket to Vino in the Village, two drink tickets for Party in the Park, and race day participation in either the 9-mile or 4-mile run.
